How do I sell my brand to clothing company buyers?

Hi I just started an Internship with a small fashion label in LA. And I have to start selling the line to clothing buyers, but I'm unsure how to do that. Like I have to make a letter asking to make an appointment with the buyers. What's an innovative way to sell to buyers now-a-days with out sounding generic? What do they want to hear? Any suggestions?
