What is Jacksonville like, when is the best time to move and what is the safest area?

I am a 41 year old female african american, looking for a change in life and a career, I am considering Jacksonville. What is the deal with Jacksonville for a single female wanting to start a new life and career. Please be completely honest.

  1. Jacksonville is very "country" i'm sure if you can bring something new to the table, you would be very successful.
  2. Depends on which Jacksonville you are talking about..... If it is Jacksonville Al. Then you'll love it. It is a small College city. Most of the things there cater to the college students, but the crime rate is really low. Everything is easily found and accessed. Your not too far from anything you need and about 15 minutes from the Interstate. Jacksonville is a nice place to move and live. Now if you are talking about one of the 100s of other Jacksonvilles, then I will have to say "I don't know."
  3. in square miles jacksonville fl is the biggest city in the united states you can fit every man women and child in the in the entire country in the city limits of jacksonville.
  4. Southside and Arlington are the safest areas but it's got heavy amounts of traffic because of the number of people commuting to/from downtown. Just e-mail me if you have more questions
